What are just a few of the things that I can help you with?

Beginner to Intermediate Students:

Intermediate to Advanced Students:

  • Proper basic technique (such as posture, and efficient finger placement and movement) to prevent bad habits most people acquire that you wouldn’t have noticed without the help of a private teacher.
  • Tutoring for those preparing for an Audition to a Post-Secondary Musical Program.
  • Learn how to play your favourite songs: What most beginners crave.
  • Expand your knowledge and understanding of the guitar so that you have a working method of figuring out where you can play single notes, chords, and melodies all across the guitar’s fretboard.
  • Advice on how to shop smart for guitar gear such as new strings, tuners, metronomes, guitar stands, cases, amplifiers, cleaning supplies, and save time by bypassing salespeople.
  • For seasoned guitarists, finally take the plunge and learn how to read and write real sheet music, and gain an advanced understanding of musical theory. This will enhance your ability to communicate with other musicians, and even land certain gigs that you couldn’t have otherwise!
  • Know all the first chords that every guitarist should know, along with a large variety of strumming patterns to keep things fresh and funky!
  • There’s more than Major, Minor, and “Bar” Chords: Learn about more sophisticated and “specialty” chords fit for certain occasions, and how you can create your own chords from scratch!
  • How to tune your guitar and re-string your guitar.
  • Learn where to play great scales, melodies, and rhythms at the right time, and learn the science of why they sound great.
  • Be able to name all of the notes and different parts on the guitar.
  • Exercises to dramatically improve every aspect of your playing including rhythm, tone, and techniques such as bending and pinch harmonics.
  • Write your own songs!
  • Learn how to properly set up and intonate your guitar: Make your guitar sound more “in-tune” overall, play more easily, and forever skip the trip to the music shop to keep your money in your pocket!
  • Begin your Musical Theory Education, including basic scales, types of chords, and how to read and write sheet music!
  • Manipulate your gear for optimum tone and performance; finally *know* how to get the sound you’re looking for…
  • Know how to play what you hear in your head: Ear Training will enable you to identify notes, scales, chords, and rhythms without guessing or picking up your guitar to double-check. Music is a *Listening* art, so why not take steps to build a superior ear?
